Take that old thwart out and make more use of that space by replacing it with a new shelf. The top of the shelf is 48 x 6 1/4″ and a solid 1″ thick. The outside dimensions of the box are 42 x 6 x 6″. Holes have been drilled in the bottom of the shelf to ensure water drains and does not rust your equipment. A small lip is added to the front of the shelf to keep everything inside. It is totally encapsulated in West Systems Epoxy to ensure a long life.
